Our Nursery

A Warm Welcome

In our cosy, two-floor nursery, we pride ourselves in giving your little ones the very best possible start in life through a rich mixture of play-based experiences and a tailored educational programme, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage. We have a bright and stimulating environment incorporating a treehouse, climbing and soft play platform and a small outdoor play area with sandpit and raised area accessed by a ladder.

Our staff love their roles, which is a key ingredient to our success, and from day one we will work with parents to ensure your child’s happiness, confidence, skills and early independence are developed in readiness for the school years ahead. We draw on various pedagogies including Montessori, using methods best suited to each child, and value each individual, building self-esteem and laying a firm foundation for their future education.

We are very proud of our Duchess family and community and would love to show you around the nursery, helping you to decide if we are the place for your little one. Please contact us at any time to arrange this.

Best wishes
Soni Valechha, Head of Nursery

Settling In

We recognise the importance of ensuring a child feels happy, safe and welcome at our nursery so offer a highly inclusive and supportive environment and a smooth settling in process. When your child starts nursery, we offer a three day settling in programme to help the family feel comfortable in the environment. Each child is allocated a key person who is instrumental in this process. We feel this is an important part in helping the child and the parents to feel relaxed and ready for their time at the nursery.

The key person has special responsibilities for working with a small number of children. They aim to give the child the reassurance to feel safe and cared for, ensuring they are happy, secure and making progress. They build a genuine bond with the child and their parents, developing a special relationship that always fosters the best interests of their child.
