Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum
We plan the curriculum in line with the EYFS looking closely at the needs of the individual child. We aim to support every child to 'have a go', to discover and explore using their imaginations. We want each child to reach ther potential and thoroughly enjoy learning alongside their peers.
Play teaches children a whole host of life skills, enriching their development and making sense of the world around them. Learning through play includes: sand and water play, art, stories, role play, songs, outdoor play, small world play and more.
All of these activities help children to develop their social and emotional, physical, cognitive, communication and language skills. Children are guided by the Duchess Nursery team to find opportunities for learning through their play time - to help them express themselves, to problem solve and negotiate, to take turns and make friends.
At all ages our staff assist with developing independence and building self-esteem, preparing them for confident progression confidently to the next level of learning.
